Which is better threading or waxing?
In the world of beauty, there are different options when it comes to temporary hair removal. Waxing and threading are two methods that are commonly used. Although both methods serve the same purpose, they are actually quite different. Read on to find out more about these two hair removal treatments.
Waxing involves a wax that solidifies to trap hairs and pull them off when the wax is removed. Threading involves pinching the hair between two cotton strings that pull each strand up and out of the follicle.
So, if you are thinking of having hair removal done, which method would you chose? Here are some tips:
For eyebrows, threading can be very useful because the lines are perfectly smooth and eyebrow shaping is precise. But keep in mind threading can be extremely painful. There is also a chance that hair won’t be completely removed by threading, but rather just broken off.
Waxing, on the other hand, probably hurts a little less because it is so quick. However, retinols or prescription retinoids (like Retin A), make your skin more sensitive to waxing. In fact, in worst cases, waxing can actually remove the top layer of your skin if you are on a retinoid. So be sure to stop any retinoids at least one week before waxing or choose threading instead.
So, as you can see, there is no one right answer.Do your research to help decide which method of hair removal is best for you. Would love to hear your thoughts…which is best - waxing or threading?
