Summer Skincare
Summer is here!
I love being outdoors but hate the dark spots I can get from the sun. Here are some summer tips to protect your skin:
☀️Wear a hat with 4-inch brim. Wearing a wide brimmed hat (minimum 4-inch brim) is a simple way to protect yourself while having "fun in the sun." I always wear a visor in the mornings, but a full summer hat like the one pictured is best to protect your whole face (including the cheeks).
☀️Wear minimum SPF 30 daily. I recommend a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30. Keep in mind when spending time outside that sunscreen should be reapplied every 2 hours. A higher SPF (like SPF 50) is recommended if you are going to be outside all day
☀️If you love to exercise outside, exercise early in the morning (before 8am) or late in the evening (after 6pm) to avoid the full sun.
☀️Find the shade. Summer days at the beach or a barbeque are fun but a whole day in the sun can be brutal for your skin. I always find the shade wherever I am. (Sometimes I feel like vampire.) I even go out of my way to choose shady streets when I walk in the mornings. When you live in a sunny climate like I do, little changes like these can make a huge difference in your skin.
