Did you know there are two types of sweat?

Eccrine sweat glands are located on most of our body (face, trunk and extremities) and produce watery, salty sweat. However, the groin and underarms contain apocrine sweat glands which produce odorous, thick, oily sweat. That’s why we need antiperspirants in the underarms but not for other parts of the body. Antiperspirants reduce sweat by blocking the sweat ducts. Fragrance is often added to mask the natural odor from apocrine sweat glands.
