Sun & Snow: Why Should You Use Sunscreen Even When Snowing

I was in Big Bear last week for spring break and almost got snowed in! It was the first time my kids saw snow. We had to be so careful because the sun was intense. Make sure you wear sunscreen when you're out in the snow.

Welcome to Miami! Just kidding. I'm actually in California in Big Bear and I just wanted to do a quick video to talk about the sun and the snow. Dermatologists always talk about wearing sunscreen when you're at the beach but it's just as important to wear it when you're up in the mountains in the snow. Snow is actually much more reflective than water and when you're in the mountains you're actually closer to the Sun and sometimes have an even higher UV index. So it's really important to wear sunscreen when you're up in the mountains and in the snow.
