What are Eyelash Extensions?
Long, thick eyelashes! It seems everybody wants them, but, unfortunately, not everybody has them. Well, thanks to new current beauty technology, now anyone can have long lashes! If you want to take the plunge, you can have long thick lashes, even if you weren’t born with them. But what exactly does this procedure involve?
Eyelash extensions are artificial lashes that are bonded to your natural ones. They last for several weeks. If you are interested in getting eyelash extensions, there are a few things you should know in advance. First of all, the process is not painful, and your lashes won’t be damaged, as long as you find a skilled and certified technician. Be sure to check out referrals and credentials in advance.
Also, because eyelash extensions are temporary, you will need to return to the salon every 2-3 weeks in order to keep up your look. At $150-$200 for the initial application and $55-$65 for refills, this can get to be quite expensive!
Finally, be sure to keep lashes clean to maintain extensions. Mascara should not be used as it will weigh down the lashes dulling them and causing them to clump together. Easy to remove water based liquid eyeliner is recommended so that you don’t rub your eyes too much when you are trying to remove your makeup (Oil based eye makeup and makeup removers will weaken the glue.) Be sure to keep your lashes clean, using a lash specific cleanser twice a week.
With modern technology, anyone can have the long lashes they dreamed of. Make sure to do your research and find a skilled technician so you can determine if this procedure is right for you.
